UIC experiences the exotic culture of Spain

Spanish flags, postcards, calendars, hand-painted art pieces, travel journals; these items were seen all over campus as the cultural sensation of Spain filled UIC at the third Spanish Culture Week at the end of April.

In the opening speech, Prof. Ng Ching Fai said that organisations of culture- exploring events such as the Spanish Culture Week were highly important for the development of UIC as an international college.

“Spain has a long history and a rich culture,” said Prof. Ng. “I hope through these activities, students could better understand and cherish Spanish culture. Personally, I always learn something new from the Spanish Culture Week every time it comes around.”

Spain’s wine culture was the centerpiece of the opening ceremony as Mr. Saul Vazquez, President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China, introduced Spanish wines, discussing their production processes, odours and tastes.
