(2) LOCATION PORTRAIT LIGHTING WORKSHOP (摄影工作坊)

Guest Speaker: Chad Stuart Owsley
Working with multiple lights to craft stronger editorial portraiture on the go, with location lighting kits. In this workshop, Chad Stuart will talk about the value of adding one and two-light scenarios to your location photography, or assignment editorial portrait shooting. The workshop is applicable to students studying photography, professional editorial and commercial photographers, photographers interested in improving their portrait photography, as well as photography enthusiasts. Basic photography skills - understanding basic DSLR, Interchangeable-lens, or medium format camera functionality - is expected. (If you can control your camera in Manual setting, or know what the Aperture is and its function, then you have enough knowledge to benefit from this workshop.) To take part in the workshop, participants are encouraged to bring a DSLR, Interchangeable-lens, or medium format camera (with a functioning hotshoe) & lens, and a laptop, tablet/iPad, or smartphone that can transfer images from the camera to the computer device.
About the speaker:
Chad Stuart Owsley is an American photographer, photojournalist, news editor, and educator. He teaches photojournalism and visual news media at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. His current research is a film project on cultural immersion, focused on expat workers impressions of China. Chad Stuart is actively engaged with current affairs in news media and emerging media storytelling methods. He has worked as the Editor in Charge of Silk Road Post , and Visual Editor at lifeofguangzhou.com , Guangzhou Morning Post Elite Weekly under the Guangzhou Daily Press Group, and with GDTV as a foreign reporter and host.
(3) GUEST TALK: “From Print to New Media: My Personal Experiences" (专家讲座:从报纸到新媒体——我的个人经历)

Guest Speaker: Man Cheuk Fei
About the speaker:
Mr. Man Cheuk Fei is a distinguished journalist, Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of the Master Insight Media Limited. Mr. Man started his journalistic career in 1990 at Next Magazine as a political reporter, and joined the Hong Kong Economic Journal (HKEJ) in 1992 as Editor/Writer of the Commentary section. He became Assistant Chief Editor in 2000, served as Chief Editor of HKEJ Monthly from 2001 to 2013 and launched Master Insight Media in 2014. He has published five books and is currently completing his sixth.
Mr. Man holds a B.A. from the University of Hong Kong and an MPhil in Government and Public Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. A believer in lifelong education, he has studied on scholarship at Stanford University, the Poynter Institute for Media Studies in Florida, and Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management. He was awarded a Knight Fellowship from Stanford University and a Nieman Fellowship from Harvard University.
