Abstract: The richest non-oil exporting economies in the world all have the biggist welfare states (or welfare state systems), except one country, the USA. Why do most CEOs prefer to invest their money in large welfare states? What is the meaning of the Laffer Curve? And why should we ask what kind of welfare state and what kind of welfare state institutions and policies we have, instead of, how big a welfare state we have? All these questions will be answered by this lecture. It is a must for any economics-interested person, for any politically-interested person, for anyone who would like to know more about the core issues that connects the economy and the welfare state system in any country on earth.
