The first session of the lecture series “Studies of Cantonese Opera” was successfully held by the “Branding the Greater Bay Area” Research Centre in the afternoon of May 18, in room T2-301. Dr. Jianing Chen, one of the speakers gave a fascinating introduction on the history of the development of Cantonese Opera in the Greater Bay Area. Then Dr. Andy Shui-lung Fung talked about A Case Study of his “Hong Kong YAM Kim-fai Research Project” and how to do drama research base on SWOT analysis. The talk climaxed with a clip of a famous Cantonese Opera piece “Princess Chang Ping”.
This interesting interlocution has attracted audience from different programmes, including Prof. Tze-ki Hon, Dr. Zhixiang Yang, Dr. Xiaolong Diao, Dr. Yegor Grebnev, Dr. Chuanli Xia, Dr. Xiaying Xu and Dr. Chally Lim.
