As the primary speaker, Dr. Jianing Chen introduced the evolution, diffusion, and classification of chess around the world. He then focused on shogi, the Japanese variant of chess, talking about its development history, classification, and game rules. He also analyzed how shogi embodies cultural communication and the spirit of innovation. Subsequently, the faculty and students promote their relationship by playing shogi in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.
This event was sponsored by the "Teaching and Learning" project funding of DHSS which was designed to encourage education and development through practice. With the continuing pandemic of Covid-19, most of the faculty and students of UIC feel nervous in daily life. In order to reduce the mental pressure of the students and improve the mutual understanding between faculty and students, similar enjoyable activities will be held in the future.
