The Institute of Cross-Cultural Studies (ICCS) hosted the 3rd Media Anthropology Conference (June 9-10), bringing together media anthropology academics and intellectuals from China and abroad. The conference, themed "Revisiting Global/Local Communities: Media, (Im)mobilities and (Dis)placement," generated insightful discussions that led to profound insights into a variety of topics, including mobile spaces, media and materiality, ethnicity, diaspora and mobility, historical perspectives on media, generation, gender, cultural groups and media, and mediated relationships.
