This concentration aims to train students into communication specialists in various sectors of society. It emphasizes the integration between principles and practices across diverse areas and aspects of communication. Students learn to apply theory to real world situations in interpersonal, instituitional, and social contexts. 

Specifically, the concentration is to achieve the following goals: 

• Cultivate communication leadership skills and the ability to systematically evaluate and solve communication and media problems;

• Develop a conceptual and analytical mind in utilizing advanced communication knowledge in students' current or future careers; and

• Educate individuals in new substantive areas in the field of communication.
