On 17 October 2022, Dr.Shuru ZHONG, a Distinguished Associate Fellow at the School of Tourism of Sun Yat-sen University, was invited to share a fascinating lecture with the students of UIC.
The lecture was themed on the ethnography of vegetable markets. As an anthropologist studying Chinese food markets, Dr. ZHONG has traveled the country for over six years, experiencing the lives of food market vendors first-hand and painting a panorama of Chinese food markets from a unique perspective. Dr. CHONG's case studies enabled the students to understand the cultural connotations and social significance of Chinese food markets.
