MA in Communication 2018

There is a popular saying online: “1998 was 10 years ago for me.” This is used to tease people born in the 80s. I am an 80s baby and in the past 10 years, I have been in the UK and China, shifted my study interest from science to liberals arts, transitioned from study to work and in the 10th year, I decided to return to study again. UIC blends rigorous academic environment with an international campus facilities and faculties. In my first semester, I had four instructors from different parts of the world teaching four different courses while my classmates are also from all walks of life which constitute a unique learning experience to me. Furthermore, there are both practical and theoretical courses in the programme where we are expected to apply theory into real-world situations, in which we usually do it in group for better brainstorming. This has helped to solidify my knowledge in communication studies as well as gaining lifelong friendships.
