The Globalisation and Development (GAD) Programme has recently significantly increased the number of computer-based courses that aim at providing students with solid digital skills and profound understanding of the ongoing global digital transformation.
From 2021-22, in fact, the GAD curriculum will include four Major Required courses like:
-“Python Programming For Beginners”
-“Global Digital Transformation: Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Blockchain”
-“Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Environmental Management”
-“Data Analysis for Social Science”
These courses are organized in collaboration with the Division of Science and Technology (DST), which ensures that students will receive practical, hands-on training (“learning by doing”), in addition to grasping the immense impact that the use of these technologies is already having on various domains of governance – from finance to development, from sustainability to logistics, from public security to welfare.
These courses contribute to the fulfillment of the overall core mission of GAD, which is to prepare well-rounded, internationally-minded future governance leaders for careers in multinational corporations, international organizations, public administration agencies, consulting firms and NGOs, anywhere across the globe.
Digital skills, in fact, represent the new “universal language” of the world of tomorrow: with such skills, GAD students will be even readier to take on any professional challenge and actively contribute to sustainable progress worldwide!
