Upgraded GAD curriculum from 2021 onwards: “International Development” and “Public Administration” concentrations, solid digital skills…and more!

    The Globalisation and Development (GAD) Programme’s curriculum is about to become even more comprehensive and relevant! Students admitted from the year 2021-22 onwards, in fact, will benefit from an upgraded curriculum which features a series of crucial additions that aim at further expanding their chances of future success anywhere across the world!

    Those joining us in 2021, in fact, will be required to complete 16 Major Required courses, which will include a broad range of highly relevant subjects like, among others, “International Cooperation”, “Principles of Development Economics”, “Global Environmental Governance”, “Global Routes of Trade and Investment” and “Introduction to Political Science”. A significant set of computer-based courses – organised in collaboration with the Division of Science and Technology (DST) – will also significantly enhance GAD students’ digital skills: “Python Programming for Beginners”, “Global Digital Transformation: AI, IoT and Blockchain”, “Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Environmental Management”, “Data Analysis for Social Sciences”.

    Moreover, from their 3rd year of studies onwards, GAD students will be able to choose on the basis of their interests and career aspirations between two alternative concentrations, in “International Development” or in “Public Administration”. Each concentration will require them to complete 5 Concentration Required courses, plus 2 Concentration Elective courses of their preference.
