On April 27, 2022, GAD had the honour to invite Mr. Tang Zhifeng, the Executive Deputy Director of Beijing DHH Law Firm, as a guest speaker to the DHSS Lecture Series. Mr. Tang gave a lecture on the rapid development and huge potential of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) to inspire young people to seize the many opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship that the GBA has to offer.

Mr. Tang first explained the various stages in the evolution of the GBA and highlighted its important position as a national core of modern service industry and technological advancement, as well as a window for international cooperation, by referring to the example of Qianhai Shenzhen. He then introduced the opportunities and challenges brought about by the GBA’s specific institutional environment in particular regard to different currencies, tax and legal systems involved. By sharing his knowledge and practical experience in the region, Mr. Tang encouraged students to make use of their strengths and plan a bright future right here in the GBA.

During the Q&A session, moderated by Dr. Shuang Wu, Assistant Professor of GAD, and Ms. Helen He Xi, Assistant Instructor, Mr. Tang answered students’ questions on how to resolve disputes and realize regional institutional integration in the GBA. The GAD Programme thanks Mr. Tang for his time and contribution, and hopes to establish even closer cooperation with DHH Law Firm in the near future.
