GAD Students honored at FYP Awards 2023 Exhibition

    On May 17, 2023 the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) held FHSS Exhibition of Student Achievements 2023: Best FYPs and Award-Winning Projects. Seven senior GAD students who excelled in their respective FYP projects presented their posters and received awards: Ms. Yu Kyung JEON, Ms. Deng Ziwen, Ms. Lu Wanlin, Ms. Chen Jingyu, Mr. Zhang Qifan, Mr. Chen Chaofan, and Mr. Chen Jiawei.


    Dr. Edoardo Monaco, Acting Head of the Department of Social Studies (DSS), and Dr. Zhang Qiaoyun, Acting Associate Head of the DSS congratulated awardees on stage and proudly presented them with their certificates.


    Mr. Chen Chaofan was selected  as an outstanding student representative to give a speech at the opening ceremony. He shared his experience of conducting a research project on public health policy, and expressed appreciation for his supervisor and the GAD faculty as a whole for inspiring him and giving him guidance.

    Students’ projects were diverse, covering a wide range of topics including:

    v Building the Greater Bay Area as a World-class University Cluster:  An Analysis from Education Cooperation;


    v Impact of Hybrid Rice Technology Transfer in Mozambique Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center;


    v Women’s Status and Value in the Context of Their Increasing Economic Role;


    v Developing Climate Finance Readiness through Institutional Funds to Build Climate Resilience in Africa: Rwanda's Experience;


    v Political Rationales and Economic Cost Analysis on Different Pandemic Control Policies: Evidence from China and the United Kingdom;


    v Will the World Fall into the Kindleberger Trap in the Post-Russian-Ukraine Conflict Era? A Rhetorical Analysis.
