2023-2024 Academic Year Globalization and Development (GAD) Student Research and Publication Summary

Over the past academic year, students in the GAD programme have actively contributed to various platforms, publishing articles on topics ranging from plastic governance and animal conservation to marine protection and Belt and Road cooperation. As the academic year comes to a close, let's reflect on and celebrate the remarkable achievements of our GAD students.

Dr. SELÇUK ÇOLAKOĞLU  ( Globalization and Development,GAD) authored a chapter titled "China and Turkey: From Bilateral Relations to Silk Road Cooperation on the Eurasian Continent" in the "Routledge Handbook of China and Eurasian International Relations." This comprehensive book, comprising ten sections, delves into the dynamics of major powers in a multipolar world order. It examines China's political and economic interests in the post-Soviet Eurasian continent, the Middle East, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Arctic, as well as its interactions with international forces such as the United States, Russia, the Eurasian Economic Union, and NATO. The book also discusses environmental experts' perspectives on the sustainable development impact of the Belt and Road Initiative and other international economic and transportation corridors, along with digitalization experts' insights into China's role in multilateral relations, the Digital Silk Road, and e-governance.

Three GAD students, Chen Jingyu, Zhang Qifan, and Liang Hongshang, contributed as research assistants to the chapter "China and Turkey: From Bilateral Relations to Silk Road Cooperation on the Eurasian Continent" in the "Routledge Handbook of China and Eurasian International Relations."

Additionally, several students participated in the GAD-CBCGDF (China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation) Sustainable Leadership Program.
