“GAD-CBCGDF Sustainability Leadership Platform”: training future sustainable development governance leaders!

The Globalisation and Development (GAD) Programme has recently partnered with the Beijing-based “China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation” (CBCGDF) - a leading organisation active, across China and beyond, in a wide range of initiatives spanning from poverty alleviation to circular economy, from natural resource management to global environmental governance, from UNSDG promotion to Green Belt and Road Initiatives – so as to create the “GAD-CBCGDF Sustainability Leadership Platform”. The platform will greatly increase GAD students’ opportunities for research on, active engagement in and exposure to nationally and internationally relevant initiatives concerning various aspects of sustainable development governance.

CBCGDF is: member of the UN Global Compact and of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN); partner to the Convention on Migratory Species (UNEP/CMS); a member of the Global Genome Biodiversity Network (GGBN); observer to The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) and to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES); data publisher to the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF); accredited partner to UN Environment; member of CITES' Standing Committee's Intersessional Working Groups; accredited observer of United Nation's Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES); member of the Belt and Road Life Science Economy Alliance (LSEA).
