Work in the new media operation Department of Guangdong Neweekly Magazine
The days in United International College (UIC) are memorable of my youth. Studying in International Journalism (nowadays Media and Communication), I always marked myself as a real journalist.
For example, the reporting skills taught in class are constantly hammered in every issue of Zhen Zhu Bao, a practicum newspaper for the Program; the practical skills delivered from professors are constantly honed in every news photo and video clip.
Additionally, the integrated teaching methods and the Whole Person Education philosophy of UIC, assisting me to know more about society and the development of the world.
Nowadays I have become a real journalist in Newsweekly Magazine. I realize UIC has delivered me a lot when in the field of the workplace—not only the journalistic knowledge but also the perspective of critical thinking.
“News is the first draft of the history, while journalists are the witnesses to make the finishing point of the draft.” I keep the sentence in my mind, as I understand that it is the responsibility of a journalist to follow the pulse of society.
Energizing opportunities, rising above challenges. I wish the younger generations of IJ/MCOM could realize their dreams when studying at UIC. Keep moving, keep the passion.
