There have been many precious memories during my four-year college career at UIC, but if I were asked to name several of the most impressive shining points of UIC, I would nominate the immersive English-teaching environment and its vision of the Whole Person Education. UIC is a college that applies English as the primary instructing medium. In other words, to get a good grade at UIC, one must become a good English user at first. Thanks to the frequent English-exposure learning environment, my English skills have been greatly enhanced, which laid down a solid foundation for my postgraduate career. However, not until I graduated from UIC did I gradually found out that the gift from the alma mater was not merely about the improvement in language competence, but more about the confidence in cultural exchanges: I am not afraid of sharing views anymore. The vision of the Whole Person Education has also taught me a lot. I learned that learning should not be constrained in the academic field but should penetrate every aspect of life: to confront difficulties with positive and fearless spirits and be an open-minded lifelong learner. Time flies, an undergraduate from UIC has already become a postgraduate in CUHK, facing her brand-new adventures and challenges. Nonetheless, I have faith in myself, and such confidence is the best gift from my beloved UIC.
