Joining International Journalism (hereinafter referred to as IJ) for four years, I feel a great sense of achievement from my study experience. In this major, I have actually accumulated tangible results, including editing multitudes of newspapers, broadcasting the news program I produced, as well as composing news magazines and documentaries independently. All of these are more meaningful than a single score written on the transcript. After I graduated from UIC, particularly when I was searching a job, I would appreciate IJ with gratitude, not only did it give us the professional knowledge of "journalism", but also cultivated our capability to stand on the society in advance. The English and Chinese writing skills trained in ‘Foundation of News Reporting’, the insight of the social focus accumulated while planning the news angle for ZhenZhuBao (a newspaper running by IJ students), and the communication and teamwork skills had practiced in every group project. All of these are not only unforgettable memory at school, but useful skills for surviving my current job. In the forthcoming path, these abilities gifted by IJ will help us to face different kinds of difficulties with better advantage, and will benefit for a whole life.
