Pursuing a Master degree in Singapore's National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University

I much very cherish the four years that I have spent on the campus of UIC. The liberal arts training I received allowed me to develop holistically. The full English immersive education also allowed me to be fluent in a second language.

Most importantly, during my time in IJ, I learned how to be a deep thinker, looking at issues through various perspectives, and the most important two ways of thinking are creative thinking and critical thinking.

The various modules offered by IJ provided opportunities for me to train my thinking abilities.

In field-based practices, through the publication of Zhen Zhu Bao, our school newspaper, I was able to level up my interview skills and writing ability and discover news around me through brand new lenses.

In theoretical lessons, we learnt many different theories in Communication studies, and among them, the relations between media, globalization and power helped me to become especially more effortless in engaging in independent critical thinking in issue analysis.

Furthermore, during my study in IJ, I was able to gain greater clarity on my future academic pursuit and development. Since January 2021, I have started my academic journey with my Master in Humanities Education at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University. I hope I will further my understanding with regard to citizenship education and global cultural awareness.
