Studying Ethnographic and Documentary Film MA in University College London, United Kingdom
Had completed internships in Xinhua News Agency, as well as People's Daily Digital Communications
The best decision I have made in my undergraduate journey was to become an "IJer". Although we were always staying up late, tortured by endless reading and writing of essays or running to get the "big" news that was really just small, we always kept our enthusiasm and love.
At the same time, the education I received at IJ has shaped my thinking. For example, "what is the truth", "what is objectivity" and "how to be objective in journalism" were questions that ran through my four years of studies. However, after the systematic study, I gradually understood and discovered that there might be no absolute right or wrong, good or bad, or absolute objectivity or impartiality in this world; everything is relative.
These gains were as significant or more important to me than the acquisition of professional skills because I learned to think dialectically and would benefit from this in the future. I am grateful for all I have gained at UIC and IJ, for making close friends, meeting respectful teachers, and becoming a better version of myself.
What tomorrow will hold is anyone's guess until then. But I will continue to carry the enthusiasm and love that IJ has given me and not miss a single "big" news.
