“There are 13 fill lights in the new studio,” said Zhang Yichi, a student helper and photographer. “All of them can change their color temperature to create a different atmosphere and effects for subjects in the viewfinder.”

Background screens of different colors have also been equipped in the new digital media studio. Students can change the color into black or white to record their interviews and use the green screen for image matting and animation production.

“Only experience can help students learn deeply,” Dai Fei, MCOM lecturer, explained to visitors of the new studio. “As long as they pick up their camera, they will comprehend where the problem is.”

Students and teachers from MCOM/ IJ can now use the new studio for a variety of media projects and for classes as well.
