On the afternoon of October 25, 2023, the Media and Communication Promotion Day 2023, sponsored by the Media and Communication Studies Academic Society, was successfully held at T5-102. This activity is mainly for freshmen majoring in journalism and communication, aiming to make them a perception of the media and communication major through the activities so that they can choose the most suitable learning path in the upcoming major selection. The event was attended by Dr. Jesse Owen Hearns-Branaman, Prof. Holger BRIEL, Dr. Markus G. T. Heidingsfelder, Dr. Vincent Hing Po LAM, Dr. Ding Runze, Dr. Nicole Lai Fong YANG, and Dr. Piao Ningzi.
The whole promotion day activity begins at 2 PM and ends at 5 PM. The fair has set up different display booths so that students can learn about the relevant professional knowledge of media and communication when they browse. In order to increase the interest in the activity and let the freshmen have a "first understanding" of the professional professors, the activity prepared some questions about them for the students. When the game was going on, the whole venue was full of laughter, the students who came to participate in the activity cooperated, actively answered the questions, and not only answered correctly but also made an interesting "first impression" of the teachers who may get along with each other in the future.
In the tutor-sharing meeting, the professors of media and communication majors actively answered the questions raised by the students, answered the doubts of the students about the major, responded to the popular questions of the student's interest in the major learning content, the future application for graduate university, and the learning career direction, listened to the personalized questions of the students carefully and patiently, and put forward their own suggestions. In this session, students can ask questions to any tutor, or directly look for proffers who study their fields of interest to ask questions. There are full seats at each tutor's consultation table, and students and tutors sit around a table together, which not only answers questions but also reduces the distance between teachers and students. Many senior volunteers also joined the team to answer questions from the perspective of students.
This autumn, the freshmen have ushered in the moment to choose their future learning path, but no matter how they choose, the students always explore attentively, keep working, and constantly choose the way of learning for the future. We hope all the students can meditate and choose the most suitable learning path for themselves.
