Title: From Scroll to Screen: Analysing Historical Adaptations in Justice Mobile

Abstract: The emergence of digital narratives has opened new avenues for the reinterpretation of historical and cultural texts. This study investigates how the video game Justice Mobile (逆水寒) (NetEase 2023) adapts ancient Chinese texts to create engaging interactive experiences for modern players. Using the narrative framework of Chapman (2019) and Fairclough’s (2001) critical discourse analysis, this research aims to reveal the potential of video games to bridge ancient literature and contemporary digital culture.
