The Research Centre for History and Culture (RCHC)
The Research Centre for History and Culture (RCHC) was co-founded by Beijing Normal University (BNU) and BNU-HKBU United International College (UIC) in June 2019. Through focused research on major ancient civilizations both in China and abroad, RCHC conjugates expertise in Eastern and Western research and improves traditional knowledge with innovative methods. By means of rigorous interdisciplinary research, RCHC aims at contributing to cultivate and advance various disciplines of history and culture, as well as to create a large scientific network with rich humanistic quality and international vision.
The research centre is located in Zhuhai, which is an important gateway for China to the world. At the same time, Zhuhai has the geographical advantages of being adjacent to Hong Kong and Macau and close to Taiwan. Accordingly, the research ability and cultural vision of Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau will be consolidated, and Chinese cultural traditions will be made accessible to the rest of the world. With the centre as the bridge, China will embrace different world civilizations.
