Introduction of Elsewhere (2018 onward)

Elswhere is ELLS’s magazine of new writing. The title is a pun on ‘ELLS’ and ‘else’, echoing the poet Arthur Rimbaud’s remark, “True life is elsewhere. We are not in the world.” Elsewhere thus symbolizes an ideal place that we are seeking, a free place where we can express ourselves and hide away temporarily from our daily life.

Introduction of C-Magazine (2014-2016)

Elsewhere succeeds C-Magazine which was an annual publication showcasing the best work of students in the ELLS program. Founded in 2014, the magazine published both creative and academic writing and artwork by students at all levels of study. Initially an extracurricular publication, the magazine was produced by students in the Editing and Publishing Practicum course. Dr Heather Duncan acted as Advisor.
